SPRING IS SPRUNG!! Isn’t it beautiful? It’s a wild time with gardens/yards needing to be revived . . . with greens coming out everywhere. I found more favorite plants at the nursery and then needed to get them in the ground at just the right time. Then, of course there’s watering and more watering (though, this week God has been doing a lot of that job=Rain). Of course that must be followed with Deer Repellant on everything. These hungry, beautiful deer would love to eat all my favorite plants! But then you look up at the trees . . . the GREEN expanding in all directions, and you feel your heart expand with nature.
Everywhere around me, friends are planning or leaving for exciting trips. And my spring/summer events are launching. The Hiking Group and Biking Club, are meeting and we are taking trips together. The Friends of Ute Pass Trails (FOUPT) is getting started on summer trail repair. Then there’s artist gatherings and special, exciting events like GREEN BOX FESTIVAL.
If you haven’t been to this amazing Green Mountain. Falls celebration, I can tell you . . . it will KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF! Artists, dancers, musicians, and teachers of many different programs are brought in from all over the country/world to sponsor programs for all ages including art, dance, cooking, bird watching, Kid’s Camps. Then there are also many different Health and Wellness classes, like yoga, Fitness Court training, Zumba in the water, hikes, and bike tours. It runs on and on for two whole weeks: Friday, June 27, until Saturday, July 12th. Hope to see you locals there so we can play together. Go online to greenboxarts.org or call the office: 719-465-3065×2.
Many of you knew about my recent “Court Adventure” and have been asking how it went. It all started this last January, when a lady, walking in a King Soopers’ parking lot, bashed into the back of my car, and accused me of “speeding and hitting her in a crosswalk”. Neither accusation was true. I have spent hours and days looking for a lawyer I could afford to fight for me in court. (They were all upwards of $3000.)
When I talked to the Police Officer on duty at King Soopers the next day, he told me that they had many homeless type people in that parking lot and events like mine had happened before when people needed money and caused someone to have to pay them for some reason. I finally went to my court date just last week and told them my story.
They had me meet with an Executive Attorney there, who interviewed me deeply.
The finale was: they offered a Discounted Fine payment of $250 and then, they would DROP THE CASE WITH THE LADY! So, I did it! What an educating experience! I never knew the Legal System before. Anyway, it’s over, and I learned a lot.
So I took a break from all this drama and had a fun time at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. A giraffe gave a kiss and made me smile. I enjoyed seeing the meerkats playing together. Plus so many other creatures enjoying a beautiful sunny day.
SO, ONWARD! I’m happy to announce that I got in all my required hours of education with wonderful teachers like, Jennifer Song, Past President of the Craniosacral Association, and Gary Peterson, long time teacher of Craniosacral and many other therapies. I’m now re-certified with BCTA; Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association, and ABMP; American Bodywork and Massage Professionals.
I’m still offering treatments: Craniosacral, Lymphatic, Essential Oils, and Massage, one day a week, Fridays, at our home in Green Mountain Falls. Yes, we’ll still be moving into Senior Housing; MacKensie Place, but we told them: “Not until Fall”. We love our home here and don’t want to leave it as long as Robert can still get around. He even went for an outdoor walk with me today. The time is coming when he’ll need more help than I can manage, but right now . . . WE’RE HERE IN GREEN MOUNTAIN FALLS! When we do move, we will still keep the house until his time comes to “Pass On”, then his children will inherit the house. Until then, I’ll keep doing treatments here on Fridays, and will be able to stay in touch with our beloved little town.
And I have some GREAT NEWS . . . My daughter, Shawna, is coming to stay with us for a while. She needs a Homebase from all her world traveling, and, I think, she is feeling like she’d like to help us through this major transition coming up. I’M SO EXCITED, AND ROBERT IS TOO! She’ll live mostly downstairs, but on Friday/Client Day, she’s taking her online work upstairs.
It’s forcing me to pack and get my stuff out of the downstairs bedroom . . . which has been my hangout for six years. It’s the perfect incentive to get me packing the house.
So, that’s it for now. It’s been awhile. I do want to stay in touch my newsletter and these posts are my 82-year-old, old fashioned way of doing it. I love it when you read and respond.
2025 Tune Up Dayis still happening! But please notice there are some changes to First Friday Tune-Up dates, as they are not all on the 1st Friday of a couple of months this year.
