Chunks of Life and Weather News

It’s been a while, so this letter is in CHUNKS of time, weather, and adventures.

March 23,2023: For us in Colorado it’s been snow, then rain, then beautiful sunshine . . . then rain, snow, then another beautiful day. It’s called SPRINGTIME IN THE ROCKIES. I love it! Today is a beautiful day and my Hiker Ladies group is heading up Ute Valley . . . with Yaktrax on!

April 27, 2023

The weather is still bouncing around and Robert and I are in an emotionally bouncy time also since we made the decision to change out all our 20-year-old house carpets. OMG! It’s like moving! You pack and move everything from one part of the house . . . like the whole upstairs. Then you move to the whole next area . . . like downstairs.

Next these nice guys show up and move all the furniture. They cut and pound for several days while you try to find a place to sleep since your bed is gone, and stay out of their way, yet still be available to answer questions. Of course we worked hard using our 80-year-old memories to try to keep track of where basic things were. We found ourselves asking: “Now which box did I put my toothbrush in?” . . . “How about my shoes?” Argg!

So now they have finished. The furniture is moved back in place. Robert and I are slowly going through one box at a time: “Do I keep this? Or give it to someone? Or take it to Goodwill?”

Boxes to unpack

Robert’s daughter, Jenny, and, next week, her son, Zayden, have been wonderful with showing up to help haul boxes from downstairs to upstairs and from one area to another. Robert has been careful not to lift anything and throw his back out. I wasn’t so smart. Born with the personality of a helper/doer, I couldn’t stop myself from grabbing and hauling any heavy box that was needed somewhere.

Well, after a week of this, my back was in huge pain. I was bent over, couldn’t sleep, and was crying in the middle of the night. Then, one particularly painful night, my sweet husband said: “Get your slippers on. I’m taking you to Emergency!”

Everyone there was kind. They immediately put me in a wheelchair and rolled me into a room where I was met by a Physician Assistant who interviewed me on the causes of pain, then palpated my back to find the exact problem area. She brought me two different pain medicines to take immediately, then the doctor came in and injected a strong steroid into my lower back area. They both gave me clear instructions on how to follow up over the next week. Then I was wheeled back out to the car and Robert drove me home. Again, I was crying, but this time it was tears of RELIEF! I felt no pain for the first time in a week!

For the next few days, I was dizzy and confused about the medicine’s side effects but felt so supported by everyone. My doctor gave me an Acupuncture treatment. My Yoga teacher spent a whole class hour giving me a special Acupressure and Essential Oils treatment, while, at the same time, guiding the class through yoga movement. My classmates there were so supportive and most hugged and wished me well after class.

April 30, 2023: Onwards . . . carpeting is done. Whew! Now we just have to unpack all the boxes, find our toothbrushes and shoes again, and practice “LETTING GO”. It feels good, actually to “lighten up”. It might take us a month to finish the job and that’s OK. My back is slowly getting stronger. I’m off all pain meds and I am able to hike, bike, do yoga, and all the physical stuff I’m used to . . . just slowly and carefully, but I don’t HAUL AND LIFT! Jenny and Zayden are coming to help with that. Oh, Bless Them!

So today a gorgeous Spring is exploding in our Colorado mountains. A brilliant blue sky with tufts of bright green peeking up from the soft brown earth. The birds are singing: “Here I am . . . a handsome male looking for a mate.” The owl calls: “Who’s awake? Me too.” (Can you tell I’ve been studying bird calls lately?)  I took a “BREAK DAY” and went to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to relax and get some special animal love.

May 8, 2023   Okay, here’s the final part of this letter. I do hope it hasn’t been too long, but I couldn’t say goodbye without sharing this last adventure.  I just returned from a Trail Crew Leader Training in the mountains near Evergreen, CO. It was a two-day course to teach nature enthusiasts how to lead volunteers in building effective, safe, and environmentally friendly trails through back-country wilderness.

Three of us attended from our Trail Crew in Green Mtn. Falls, and I traveled and camped with an old friend, Doug, who’s family I lived next door to in MANITOU SPRINGS . . . probably ten years ago.Oh, it was a strenuous, exciting, and amazing adventure! We learned exactly how to read the environment (water runoff, rocks, gravel, slope lines), how to safely carry and use all manner of tools with weird names like Pickmadox, Pulaski, McCleod, and how to care for the safety of a volunteer crew while teaching them how to build a trail. My back is better, but I was very careful with the lifting, carrying, hoeing, and raking. Still, our trainers supported and encouraged us, and taught us so much! As well as physical, the course was quite mentally challenging as we practiced taking the group through the steps of safety and trail building . . . such as “CUSS” . . . Carry Use Store, and Safety in the use of tools with those unusual names.

The climate in those northern mountains was beautiful throughout the day and then dropped to just above zero degrees during the nights. The hard part for me on the trip was shivering and shaking through the whole first night in my tent . . . under a gorgeous huge full red moon. Then, the next day, as the group heard about my discomfort, people loaned me sleeping bags, blankets, and ground pads. I was so warm and cozy the next night, I SLEPT LIKE A LOG! Whew!

Well, now, I’m home, cuddling with my sweet, supportive husband, watching and listening to the spring birds sing through beautiful, bright Colorado days.Kathleen and Robert

Thank you for reading and, I hope, enjoying this newsletter. I do love staying in touch.

Yes, I’m still offering treatments in Craniosacral, Lymphatic, Essential Oils, and various other bodywork therapies on Fridays at my home in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. and am loving seeing all of my old friends and clients.

Thank to my friend and our Mayor, Todd Dicksen, I am now officially licensed to work in this town. So I look forward to seeing those who show up for a treatment.

I’m not great at immediate online connection, so people usually just call or text me at 719-684-0112.

Happy Spring Rainy Days

SPRING IS SPRUNG!! Isn’t it beautiful? It’s a wild time with gardens/yards needing to be revived . . . with greens coming out everywhere. I found more favorite plants at the nursery and then needed to get them in the ground at just the right time. Then, of course there’s watering and more watering (though, this week God has been doing a lot of that job=Rain). Of course that must be followed with Deer Repellant on everything. These hungry, beautiful deer would love to eat all my favorite plants! But then you look up at the trees . . . the GREEN expanding in all directions, and you feel your heart expand with nature.
Everywhere around me, friends are planning or leaving for exciting trips. And my spring/summer events are launching. The Hiking Group and Biking Club, are meeting and we are taking trips together. The Friends of Ute Pass Trails (FOUPT) is getting started on summer trail repair. Then there’s artist gatherings and special, exciting events like GREEN BOX FESTIVAL.
If you haven’t been to this amazing Green Mountain. Falls celebration, I can tell you . . . it will KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF! Artists, dancers, musicians, and teachers of many different programs are brought in from all over the country/world to sponsor programs for all ages including art, dance, cooking, bird watching, Kid’s Camps. Then there are also many different Health and Wellness classes, like yoga, Fitness Court training, Zumba in the water, hikes, and bike tours. It runs on and on for two whole weeks: Friday, June 27, until Saturday, July 12th. Hope to see you locals there so we can play together. Go online to greenboxarts.org or call the office: 719-465-3065×2.
Many of you knew about my recent “Court Adventure” and have been asking how it went. It all started this last January, when a lady, walking in a King Soopers’ parking lot, bashed into the back of my car, and accused me of “speeding and hitting her in a crosswalk”. Neither accusation was true. I have spent hours and days looking for a lawyer I could afford to fight for me in court. (They were all upwards of $3000.)
When I talked to the Police Officer on duty at King Soopers the next day, he told me that they had many homeless type people in that parking lot and events like mine had happened before when people needed money and caused someone to have to pay them for some reason. I finally went to my court date just last week and told them my story.
They had me meet with an Executive Attorney there, who interviewed me deeply.
The finale was: they offered a Discounted Fine payment of $250 and then, they would DROP THE CASE WITH THE LADY! So, I did it! What an educating experience! I never knew the Legal System before. Anyway, it’s over, and I learned a lot.
So I took a break from all this drama and had a fun time at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. A giraffe gave a kiss and made me smile. I enjoyed seeing the meerkats playing together. Plus so many other creatures enjoying a beautiful sunny day.
SO, ONWARD! I’m happy to announce that I got in all my required hours of education with wonderful teachers like, Jennifer Song, Past President of the Craniosacral Association, and Gary Peterson, long time teacher of Craniosacral and many other therapies. I’m now re-certified with BCTA; Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association, and ABMP; American Bodywork and Massage Professionals.
I’m still offering treatments: Craniosacral, Lymphatic, Essential Oils, and Massage, one day a week, Fridays, at our home in Green Mountain Falls.  Yes, we’ll still be moving into Senior Housing; MacKensie Place, but we told them: “Not until Fall”. We love our home here and don’t want to leave it as long as Robert can still get around. He even went for an outdoor walk with me today. The time is coming when he’ll need more help than I can manage, but right now . . . WE’RE HERE IN GREEN MOUNTAIN FALLS!
When we do move, we will still keep the house until his time comes to “Pass On”, then his children will inherit the house. Until then, I’ll keep doing treatments here on Fridays, and will be able to stay in touch with our beloved little town.
And I have some GREAT NEWS . . . My daughter, Shawna, is coming to stay with us for a while. She needs a Homebase from all her world traveling, and, I think, she is feeling like she’d like to help us through this major transition coming up. I’M SO EXCITED, AND ROBERT IS TOO! She’ll live mostly downstairs, but on Friday/Client Day, she’s taking her online work upstairs.
It’s forcing me to pack and get my stuff out of the downstairs bedroom . . . which has been my hangout for six years. It’s the perfect incentive to get me packing the house.
So, that’s it for now.  It’s been awhile. I do want to stay in touch my newsletter and these posts are my 82-year-old, old fashioned way of doing it. I love it when you read and respond.
2025 Tune Up Day is still happening!
But please notice there are some changes to First Friday Tune-Up dates, as they are not all on the 1st Friday of a couple of months this year.

Bonding with the Natural World

Well, I’m back again . . . this time from an awesome eleven-day trip to Baja Sur with eight other ladies and our tour leader, Judith Piazza.

So let me share with you about what I call this special “Bonding With the Natural World”. Several months ago, my Drum teacher, neighbor, and friend, Judith, started putting together this trip to Baja, and invited friends to join her. I WAS INTERESTED! Then, another friend, Liza, decided to go . . . we decided to be roommates, and she and her husband thankfully put together all our travel arrangements. It was so easy and relaxing for me!

Lisa and I arrived at the Cabo San Lucus airport where we connected with the other ladies. Judith, who had gone earlier, showed up with a driver and van and off we went to a lovely apartment on the beach in town. After a night of relaxing, we headed north on the peninsula to a smallish town, Todos Santos and the “bonding” adventures began.

First, we hiked and explored around and enjoying great meals with our cook, Abraham, who put together fun, delicious, vegetarian treats for me. We visited museums, hiked and kayaked at the beach, and shopped and bought Mexican/handmade goodies. The local people were so helpful and nice to us.

Then Judith introduced us to the Turtle Sanctuary there, where we would spend our final day volunteering to rescue many baby turtles trying to make their way from their nests on the beach, down to the ocean water. Nowadays there are so many wild dogs, pelicans, and other animals that have been killing and eating the baby turtles as they make that journey, that they now need protection to make it safely. The Turtle Sanctuary is family-run and every hatching season they invite volunteers to show up, gently lift the turtle hatchlings from their nest, two feet down in the sand. We put them into tubs of wet sand for them to roll, and twist, and strengthen their new muscles for a few hours.

When we knew they were strong enough, we set them on the sand a few yards above the waves. They heard the waves, knew exactly what to do, and started scrambling towards the water. One could almost hear their sigh of relief as the water scooped them into their homeland.

Whew! Well, first we have other adventures ahead. So, after meeting the turtles that we would come back to, the next day we drove to La Paz, and boated out to a beautiful island called Ispiritu Santo. We were met by a great tour company with guides: Sabastian (a geologist), and Cesar. The beach front was covered with warm cozy tents, a cooking and eating facility, an outhouse and a shower room . . . and about 10 kayaks . . . all set up by the Team. The head cook, Abraham, was there and continued to make me yummy vegetarian meals.

While there we all put on scuba suits, snorkeling gear, and boated out to another part of the island where there were Sea Lions all over the rocks. As we got in the water the young ones were fascinated by us, started jumping off the rocks into the ocean and were swimming all around us, rolling over, almost brushing against us! They were not afraid of humans at all.

Meantime, the pelicans were dive bombing into the water to catch fish and swimming all around us. And the rare blue footed boobies flew by us to our delight.

One afternoon Sabastian and Cesar took us on a trail into the desert cactus . . . teaching us all about the different cactus and how they grow . . . sometimes even on top of each other.

So, on the next day we all jumped onto a small boat and headed for a nearby Bay that was well known for WHALE ACTIVITY. What an experience! The Grey Whales first checked us out by leaping, nose up, into the air with their eyes wide and looking at us. Then they flipped their tails and soon felt safe enough to swim right up to our boat. One of them even got close enough for Lisa to pet his forehead! Can you imagine?

This whole trip was such a deeply bonding experience . . . with all the animals, with each other, with NATURE!  If it interests you, Judith is organizing a similar tour next year at this time. Her contact is: Judithpiazza@gmail .com

While I was gone, Robert spent a lovely bit of time at his daughter Jenny’s home in Elizabeth. Then his son, Paul, flew in from California and brought him home to Green Mountain Falls. After a few days of them visiting, I arrived home on February 11 to find Robert a happy man because of all the special time with his kids. Oh, I’m so grateful to all of them for their support of my trip to Baja.

So, I got back home and reconnected with my great, supportive husband to do some fun things together. We had dinner and then sat by the fireplace with his cousins, celebrating his 90th Birthday!

Recently we attended an event at a Senior Living Center called MacKenzie Place. So here’s a shocker for us, family and friends, and everyone who’s known us for these many years. As Robert’s strength is getting weaker, and at the suggestion of his daughter, we put a deposit down for an independent living apartment at MacKenzie Place. WE WILL BE MOVING sometime in the next eight to ten months when something comes available!   TAKE A DEEP BREATH!  We are . . . one step at a time.  We will hold onto Robert’s house so I will have a place to continue Friday treatments.  This will help slow things down with all the furniture and “stuff” that will need to be moved sometime in the future.

A week later, for celebrating Carnivale in Manitou Springs, I joined my biking friends at the Buffalo Lodge. We rode up Manitou Avenue among the wildly costumed crowd along with many other parade participants. It was so much fun!

Life is such an adventure, isn’t it? You never know what’s coming next. I’ve been reading a great book by my old friend, John Chitty, called “YIN AND YANG” referring to the ups and downs of life and how to be with them. Basically, its about BEING POSITIVE and he offers multiple tools from famous teachers on how to do that.

It ain’t easy! Right? But it’s doable!

I’m so enjoying reconnecting with friends when they come in on my Fridays for treatments. Maybe you need to make an appointment so we can reconnect again.

Thank you, Everyone, for your support and friendship.

Aging Gracefully With Family

Well, I hope that you all had a happy, healthy, and fun Christmas. And now, I suspect we’re all happy to be home . . . quiet . . . catching up on messages, emails, phone calls, and reconnecting with each other . . . right? Here it is; a beautiful, blue sky day in Colorado. We got outside. Aahh!

It’s been a bumpy road for us in the last three weeks, since Robert fell . . . we went to the hospital where they checked him, took tests, and finally determined that nothing was broken. Thank God! He’s been weak and in pain since then. They gave him various meds which helped the pain but he got weaker, and has needed a lot of help. (Well dah, he’s turning 90 in a month)

And then . . . THE TEAM SHOWED UP. First came my daughter, Shawna, then his daughter, Jenny, arrived as they heard about what had happened. They started putting together a whole program to take care of both of us. They got him a Walker, a wheelchair, then a stronger toilet seat with side bars. Then we met with the owner of a great organization called Comfort Keepers and arranged for caregivers to come at certain times and help me cook, wash clothes, teach us how to shower and clothe him, how to use the Walker, and basically learn how to take care of him. They also have a transportation service for times when I can’t get him to a doctor’s appointment or something. Our girls completely reorganized our lives to cover all the details of “Elder Home Care”. And they set up calendars, wall boards, and schedules to help us track everything.

Then Robert’s son, Paul, his wife, Yahuei, and their beautiful three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Mila, showed up to celebrate Christmas, and Shawna had to leave to spend Christmas with her dad, in California.

Of course, Paul, being the talented AI guy from Apple that he was, started to organize everything into a program on our cell phones, and taught us “Elders” how to use it. Then he drove us to Jenny’s, an hour or so away, to celebrate a family Christmas where we enjoyed yummy meals and bonded together for two days. While there, we met for “Planning Meetings” . . . first Paul, Jenny, and Robert . . . then Paul, Jenny, and I . . . then all four of us . . . brainstorming how to go forward into a new phase of Robert’s and my life . . . called “Aging”.

It’s quite complicated and I was completely overwhelmed at first, but now, I feel the family team! They are there for us and we can call them at any time. Also, our wonderful neighbors got word of what was happening and are showing up with gifts, food, and offers of help. Shawna made a list with phone numbers of friends to call if we need help . . . like if Robert falls again and I can’t pick him up.

Mila was very fun to have visiting and being playful with Robert and me. She made us smile and brightened our hearts. And the whole family and Robert are encouraging me to keep going with my busy life and with the work that I love, Sharing Treatments with You!

SO, YES ON FRIDAY BODYWORK TREATMENTS ARE CONTINUING.
Also, our fun ½ hour for $30 treatments once a month, we call TUNE UP DAY will continue the first Friday of each month. Yes, starting this Friday, January 3. Check out the full schedule on the Tune-up page on this website.
There is, a bit of a timing glitch in February as I’ll be on a special trip to Baja that week. (Robert will be at his daughter’s home in Elizabeth.) So Tune Up will move to the next Friday, February 14th, which will be St. Valentines Day!

Come with your Favorite Loved One and treat yourselves to a MASSAGE! I’ll probably smooth a couple of special, essential oils on you to celebrate.

Then, we get back on track with March 7, first Friday. So just call or text: 719-684-0112 and we’ll book any kind of bodywork you want or need, drawing upon the 45 years of experience that I have to offer.

So Robert is slowly getting stronger. A wonderful Caregiver woman came today, Shonessa, and she showed him how to use another kind of Walker with a seat. So now we can go outside and take walks to help him regain strength. He’s completely enthusiastic and willing to train his body and get his strength back. Yay!

That’s it for now my Friends. Life is always going to change . . . so here we go . . . one foot in front of the other.

I’m deeply deeply grateful for all the family and friends who have stepped up to support and help us . . . being on call if I have to run an errand, bringing wonderful food to our door, calling in to check on Robert . . . it brings tears to my eyes as I remember it all. I guess we must have done something right in our lives to deserve this.

Thank you Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Kathleen.

Travels with Shawna

Well, I’m home again after an amazing and wonderful trip to Albania, and then Spain. Shawna, my daughter, met me at the Albanian airport, and it was so heartwarming to see her for the first time in many months. We explored both countries and played together. We spent some time figuring out how to put together our very different lifestyles once again. The first playful time came when I got off the plane and rode a Ferris Wheel in Albania.

We had many adventures together including when we climbed into a cave.
When I returned, everyone was asking me about the trip . . . so here goes:

Albania: In a town called Tirana we took a tour and learned about the history of Communism there and the people’s culture now. Basically, they have kicked Communism out of their country, and are adamant that it’s not coming back. The country is just learning and accepting Tourism, and the people were very helpful to us. After Tirana we headed for Skhoder in the Albanian Alps, where we rented and rode bikes. We went to a Venetian Mask factory.

Shawna and I swam in the Albanian warm waters and watched a powerful sunset from a beautiful castle on the top of a mountain. Then onward to . . . .

Spain: Here we stayed for two weeks in a small town on the Spanish coast of the Balearic Sea called Denia. Behind the town there is a large mountain called Montgo. It was warm, beautiful, and the people were so friendly . . . even as I stumbled and fumbled along in the
ir language.

Shawna chose this place not just for its attractiveness, but her longtime California friends, John and Lynette, had just retired and moved there. They are fun folks, and we did a lot of walking/exploring and meals with them and their 2 dogs.

One of my most fun times in Denia was on our 2nd day there, when I went to pick up our bike rentals in town while Shawna was working (1/2 hour walk away). When I got there, I learned about SPANISH SIESTA TIME! The bike shop and everything around it was closed daily from 2 to 5! Luckily, because of tourists, a few Cafes stayed open.

So, I found a nice little outdoor Café around the corner, ordered coffee, and tried to communicate with the waiter in my broken Spanish. A young man at a table next to me was listening and started translating to the waiter my questions. It turned out he was born in Spain, spoke perfect Spanish, and later in life went to school/college in New York, and learned perfect English.

We had a coffee together and shared our stories. He, Michael, was a dedicated bike rider, lived in a small town on the other side of Montgo, and frequently rode the eight miles into Denia to pick up supplies and run errands.

When he heard I was picking up bikes, he went there with me after Siesta time. The bike guy was great and had Shawna’s and my bikes ready and complete with locks and helmets. As Shawna couldn’t get there for another hour and a half, Michael offered to take me on a bike tour through town and along the coast. Of course, it was a “Yes”! He shared much about the people, the culture, the trails, and local places and events.

It was an inspiring ride . . . so at the end, I asked if he would be my Tour Guide on days when Shawna had to work. Well, he didn’t want to be paid, but he accepted my lunch and coffee offers on the days we toured. We rode all over town, up and down the coast, and rode up the mountain called Montgo to the tower that was built ¾’s of the way up that road.
Whenever Shawna and I had time to ride, I showed her these places. And she showed me places she loved to visit, including a cave. There we looked out of it and had a beautiful view of Denia.

Everyone asks me if Shawna lives there . . . and what kind of work does she do. Well, she’s a “Computer Nomad”. As a Business Consultant she helps people all over the world . . . by computer. She can live anywhere she wants so, about a year ago, she let go of her apartment in Carlsbad, California, put anything she wanted to keep in storage, and HIT THE ROAD. Who knows how long she’ll live in Spain! She just happens to be fluent in Spanish, so those countries are easy for her.

It wasn’t easy for me, but after two weeks there I could get around, and mostly make myself understood. We joined a gym, got in some good workouts and classes, attended a great food celebration on the beach, explored a lot by bike, had great meals out, and BONDED: MOTHER/DAUGHTER!

So, I’m home, picking up my life again. Yes, I’m still doing treatments on Fridays:

Craniosacral, Lymphatic/Immune System, Polarity, Deep Tissue, Essential Oils, and Massage. It seems my hands never forget how to heal with these tools. Thank God, as my almost 82-year-old memory forgets so much else. (Of course, I can always look things up in my numerous anatomy books.)

Pressure Cooking Energy

August 2024 Newsletter:

I’ve been thinking and dreaming about so many of you these last weeks. There was the full moon, and so many unusual and interesting patterns in the planets during the last month that have been occurring according to our Astrologer. Then, the huge shuffling in our USA government for several weeks that we all experienced in various ways. Recently, I have heard from so many friends and neighbors around me, that they have been experiencing life surprises and challenges, especially in their families.

For me, it’s more about health surprises . . . varicose vein issues, allergy reactions like diarrhea. I think it’s caused by one of the supplements I’m taking. But when I take a walk in nature, it goes away.

Randy, my Acupuncturist, sang a song to me:
“Well, I made it to first, but I felt a little burst
  Diarrhea . . . Diarrhea
I ran on to cross third, but I passed a little turd
 Diarrhea . . . Diarrhea
When I finally crossed home, I felt a lot of foam
 Diarrhea . . . Diarrhea”
     Written by a young schoolboy.

And then, I RECEIVED A PLANE TICKET IN THE MAIL TO GO VISIT MY DAUGHTER, SHAWNA, IN ALBANIA, THEN SPAIN! WOW!
Several months ago, we had talked about the possibility of exploring, together, this beautiful little country by the Mediterranean Sea. Now, I have the ticket to go . . . and I get to see my daughter! Double WOW!

And now, my young neighbor, Kyle, has offered to feed my little bird buddies, my wonderful husband has given me a “Thumbs Up”, and his lovely daughter, Jenny, has invited him to stay at her place while I’m gone. WHOOHOO!!!

Albania, Spain and Shawna, here I come!
So, I’LL BE GONE: SEPTEMBER 17th thru OCTOBER 8TH.

Anyway, the ups and downs of our lives, these days, can be powerful . . . whether it’s health issues, or the grief of a beloved elder ready to leave this planet, or the country’s upheaval over “Who’s our next president? or an exciting trip overseas it is:
           TIME TO BREATHE . . . . DEEP!!!!

From Brianna Wiest: “You cannot miss what is meant for you. You cannot lose what is yours. Any road you take in an effort to avoid your destiny will inevitably turn into a preparation period – a growth concourse – through which you are forced to face what led you there in the first place. In the same way you cannot hide from what is yours to have, you also cannot run from what is yours to heal, to grow from, to grow into. The things that are meant for us make us the people we were meant to be.”
(This was read to us at our yoga class this morning)

So, how is the weather in each of your areas and states? Ours, in the Colorado mountains, has been brilliant blue skies, to rainstorms and hail and wind . . . all happening in the same day.

Our flower gardens are expanding, bigger than ever before, then, suddenly, lose all their flowers to hail, then, in a few days, beautiful new flowers start popping their heads up. It’s completely unpredictable right now, of course.

Again Reminder: BREATHE AND KEEP WATERING

In the midst of this time, for a while, I wondered if it was time for me to fully retire my “heart-filling” private therapy practice, as Robert nears ninety years, and I near eighty-two years.
I talked to several close friends who have made that move, each for different reasons.
Then I talked to Robert. He said: “Why do you want to retire?’
“Well, I think you’ll need me more as you turn ninety,” was my response.
“You love your work! I don’t need to be taken care of! I don’t need you to quit!” he said firmly.

So, here we go! One day at a time . . . right?
Many dear old friends have contacted me out of the blue lately.
Sometimes they want a treatment. Sometimes they just want to reconnect.
I feel loved! I love my work and am so grateful for all the tools I’ve gained from so many wonderful teachers that allow me to be present and helpful to people over the years. I’ve had a great life!

If I may offer a final bit of advice as we navigate through this time together: Please listen to your heart as we get closer and closer to our country’s Presidential Election. Let’s stay together and choose the best for this amazing country: United States of America!

Sending Love, Kathleen

PS, from David Pond, Astrologer: “The overall Uranus influence will not tolerate stagnancy or even status quo, essentially demanding change. Be true to your values and to your authentic self to navigate thru this Pressure Cooker Energy.”
